well I have not really heard any #s of these engines. Hvae they been worth the extra $$ or not? I have seen a pew on the side but never pulling or on the dyno :- I figure they have been I just have not seen them.
Thanks

Before we get back to the original question of how competitive is the P pumped 24V let me say that my problem must be that I slapped too many P7100's on my truck, stock 215hp, tweeked 913, two new, well known race pumps with issues, one 370 marine pump rebuilt and turned up by a nationally known pump shop. I been around the block a time or two before I did the conversion, and everything works--including the cruise control if you can stand the smoke and surge of a race pump. I can reset the timing in a matter of minutes, tried everything between stock 12V specs to enough to blow my stock headgasket. Ported another head, tried six sets of injectors, changed inlet, outlet fuel pressures, etc., etc. Correct injection lines, changed delivery valves, turbos, etc., etc.
All that said, my wins this year are just below .500 (admittedly-could be worse), last year they were well over .900 with no failures on the start. This year a bunch of breaks or no goes at the line. Can anyone guess what happens to egts with added fuel and static timing???................ I'm the only guy that I know that has twisted off the output/mainshaft on an NV5600, just took two bounces of a sorry mechanical governor.
Mark, Don and Doug I would sure appreciate all your expertise and advice and tweeks on this.
Back to the question that started this thread. Who knows of competitive P-pump converted 24V Rams in say drag racing competition or sled pulling? Keep this single turbo only as there aren't that many 24V twins to compare. How many have dyno'd over the standard 500hp at public dyno days? I can name several that have contacted me about not doing so well. The Diesel Dynamic's truck that made big HP while blowing a turbo was sold and two people have told me that his 1/4 mile ET's are running 14's and 15's............ Let's hear the good stuff, I need an incentive to work harder ;D ;D. Larry

Re:p-pumped 24v
I have been wanting to convert mine for almost a year now. First for reliabilty second for the extra horsepower. I have been watching them for some time to see what horsepower is available and have not been impressed.
Another big issue for me is the smoke. Now I can run around with impressive power and have it virtually smoke free or turn on the fueling box and have over 100 HP more and all the smoke I need.
There was a p-pump 24v truck with Mitchells twins at Scheids competing and was placing toward the back of the pack behind the single charger VP trucks as well as behind a duramax with the stock turbo.
As for now I will run my VP injected 24 valve untill I see a streetable high horsepower p-pump conversion.
I don't think it is possible to have a high horsepower 24v p-pump truck with great driveability, great mileage, and low smoke, but I could be wrong.
If there is such an animal, I would be interested in converting mine again.
