Overload Questions
Hey guys as luck would have it when i bought my truck the previous owner took the over loads with him So my quiestion is hellwig bolt on over loads i haul a pretty hefty trailer couple times a year and alot of hay during the summer so would i be best off to go with the 3500lb overloads just for the assurance of being over than under goin with the 2500lb set? Any does any body run these over loads assuming most have the factory ones still. On a side note my heavy trailer is a all steel 6horse goose neck

Well you could try it without the overloads and see if you need them. You might not?? I took mine off as well, they made for a rough ride. I also haul a heavy trailer, but I went with an air bag system. It gives a great ride empty, and loaded i get a much better ride that is adjustable.

Is your 6-horse steel trailer anything like mine? (see my member pics). I am trying to get a weight on the trailer, I am in the process of restoring it. My 2500 has factory overloads and there is no squat and the overloads have yet to engage. Never had the trailer FULLY loaded though. I would say try it and see how it does. If you need more support, may consider other options as well such as air bags or timbrens.
