Not a reg cab but extra cab with the temp sensor mine mounts to the door hinges for the suicide doors. I have two rifles in here at all times and I live on a nasty bumpy road and never have had a worry about it falling down. Buddy has a single big sky bar for his truck that screws righ into the second skin and its just as solid as mine. I would have gone with the screw in one for strength but since this was in the truck when I bought it I love it.

If its the one that bolts direct to the roofs inner skin its just as simple as sheet metal screws and finding a good spot so it will not whack your head. I would make small whole or poke the spots were you will run the sheet metal screws in I had a old dodge ram-charger that I did not do this and the sheet metal screw grabbed the head liner and well you can guess what it did With my sky bar its pretty easy to tell how its mounted

I turned my coat hanger hooks around(extended cab) and butted up the skybar rack up against them. You can remove the plastic hooks and double check the depth of your inner liner. I also placed some tennis ***** between the roof and the bar. It definately takes out the vibration from the bumpy roads. I have had this rack for 7 years and never had an issue with a gun falling out. Best gun rack I have had.
