As in a Scotty pod? He has a Scotty pod in that pic he posted. Those are a good way to have dash mounted gauges. Hover with what I'm planning, the scotty pod wont work.

That's a good point Bill, I never thought of that. I wear single vision glasses. I imagine bifocals will come into play as I get older.


The windshield pod in my truck is for a 3rd gen truck. No modifications are ness. other than relocating the mirror.

Another option for those not wanting the windshield pod is the Scotties dash pod, which is seen in my pic. I only have a T/C lockup switch in it now, but there's plenty of room for gauges.

One thing to keep in mind when mounting those up there, is when you run your wires be sure to tuck them suckers as far as you can under the headliner!!! Would hate to have them wires cut when you get your windshield replaced!!!

We stock them like Silverjay said, and they are for all the 1994 + trucks, on some 1st and 2nd gens you might have to move the mirror, just depends on where it was stuck at the factory etc.

Shouldn't be a problem as the windshiled is laid in a chanell on the outside and the adhesive goes between it and the glass, the headliner is on the back side of the steel and the chanell area. If you push them up in the headliner over 1/2 inch they are protected completely etc.

Well my brother installs windshields for a living, and he said that he has seen some crappy routing of wires when people run stuff up there and has occasionally cut the wires with his blade. If somebody takes time and does it right, it shouldn't be a problem, but some people aren't the best in quality control!!!!!

He said that you would be amazed at some of the crap he sees in peoples cars.............he said he just laughs and shakes his head. He said one guy had his molding on the top of his windshield come loose, so he took some superglue and glued it to the dang roof and then was mad because his paint was all screwed up

Another guy had a rotten seal on his sunroof so he used silicone to seal it up and it ended up rusting like a mother.................some people
