As long as you realize when you do decide to pull over, shorty thereafter you will be hog tied with your face in the gravel on the shoulder of the road.
Buckfifty for 7 mph over?! I think 17 over wouldn't even get you that here (in a school zone, without your seatbelt on!)
Contest it, not sure on what grounds, but contest it.

I got one in my chevy with 35s.
I'm 19 ansd since 16 I've had 6 tickets, 2 were in CTDs with chips, (one EZ/TST stack, the other with a drag comp).
My first ticket when I was 17 was 89 in a 50.Good thing he got me at the top of the hill cause by the bottom I was pushin 97 or 98.

I'm sure glad Mr. Trooper only gave my old lady a warning this morning for 76 in a 65. I can't get my old tired butt out of bed so we were running late. I get to make fun of her now, but it was in the crappy Saturn so it really don't count here.

Not sure how things go ther in Nebraska, but here in WA they can get you for criminal reckless driving for anything 15mph over the posted limit; however inless you are being excessive they usually don't. Also here in WA the limit for fines is $101 or maybe $111 (think it might have just gone up) by simply mitigating the ticket (an hour or less of your life) and explaining the circumstance (Stip and wave) they usually will reduce the fine to the minimum amount.

Helps keep the case load moving.

Bummer. Here you have the option of Contesting (fighting the ticket) and Mitigating (basically you are saying that you won't admit guilt but the chances you'll be found guil;ty are high and you want to explain the circumstances) You simply call for a "stip and wave" (Wave your rights to "due process" with "stipulations" attached. You check one box or the other on the back of the ticket and they have to give you a day in court. I would think it would have to be that way everywhere. Your inocent until proven guilty and an officers word is not proof. If you contest it costs, but if you mitigate it is free.
Can't tell I have been to traffic court a few times
