Other lift pump options
I am looken for some help on which lift pump I should go with. I have priced the great Fass pump for 700$ I guess I am cheap. I did not know if anyone had much luck with a holley blue pump or a carter. What do you sagest other than a Fass.

I run a cummins campaign pump on my truck. I ahve afriend the runs a stock lp on the engine and a Holley blue as a pusher at the tank. He runs a consistant 20+psi at all times.
I am going to step up to this same setup as soon as funds allow.

Well if your gonna pay $700 for a FASS you mid as well check out the Mitusa at www.opieparts.com it's all mechanical, from the tank up plus it utilize's your stock lift pump for start up priming and a 2 back up

It's $710 shipped and you wont have to ever think about fuel pressure again and some say the hight pressures of those pusher pumps at start up isn't good for them

well i have the fass but it is just the pump and mine was 350 brand new. I had a buddy that bought the fass with the filters and he said it was a waste of money. He could not tell a difference between that and just the pump.

There is the FASS & the FASS II. The FASS has the filters , the FASS II is just the pump. Both have a 4 year 400K mile warranty. That's why I went with the FASSII. I was tired of messing with stock LPs.

I contacted Aermotive a few weeks ago about their line of pumps to see if they are compatible with diesel, and they told me that there is a company using their pumps (FASS) currently. They wouldn't say it was FASS but look at the two pumps and there is no denying. The FASS II is going for around 400.00 the Aeromotive #11203 go's for 165.00 at www.summitracing.com. You do the math. I recieved my pump the other day and compared it to my buddies FASS pump and they are identical, now I'm not saying they are, but all physical and mechanical features are the same ie... gph, pressures etc...
I'm putting the Aeromotive pump with a RACOR fuel filter/waterseparator system on my truck next week. This way I will be able to remove ALL the stock fuel system from the motor, LP and Fuel filter housing. Oh, the RACOR system comes with a fuel heater also. Here is the link for RACOR:

For now I plan on using the stock pick-up tube in the tank, and break into the fuel line on the frame rail next to the tank. Later I plan on replacing the pick-up tube with a larger one, we'll see how it works.
