Ordered thurens x-over steering and track bar
Well not yet, I'm waiting on a call back. Anyways, I'm gonna go ahead and get both of these to lock my front end down finally (yet another goal accomplished). Any of yall have any tips on installing this stuff? I've got a 4.5" lift so the track bar is gonna be the weld in version. I'm so excited to finally get some good front end parts on here. Might actually enjoy driving the truck again. Thanks for the help yall.

Tyler,
Talk to Chris (Signature600)... He put the Thuren crossover steering on his '98 and has nothing but good things to say about it. If I didn't already have the Solid Steel equipment I may very well have gone that way as well.

The steering knuckles aren't too hard to drill out...but if you can, take off the Pitman arm and put it in a drill press, or just take it out where you can get to it! Drilling that thing will wear you out! Other than that, the Crossover steering is a breeze!
A track bar is a track bar...I've only ever changed one, but I'm sure you'll figure it out!

Big Blue24, you've got a pm.
Chris, I planned on taking the pitman arm to a local machine shop and letting them drill it out considering all I have is a hand drill and I've heard that it's a beast to drill through. Only reason I'm asking bout the track bar is that it's a weld in version and is slightly different than the bolt in ones. BTW, figured out a solution to the issues I've been having with your gauge pod (stuff kept cracking on me and wouldn't set up right). It's going to look even better now.

Tyler,
Instead of a weld in track bar maybe you want to consider the '03+ SSI adjustable TBK. That's what I have in the event I ever wanted to lift the truck. With your existing lift I'm thinking you already have a bracket for the bar.

I've got a DT bar already on my truck and it's adjustable. As is thuren's. Reason I want thuren's is because the bracket is welded in which makes it very stout and the bushings and parts used on the bar are incredibly stout.

Never looked at the weld in brackets...I assume that's for a 03-up style trackbar?

Dont a lot of those lift kits come with track bar drop brackets? I thought the skyjacker did anyhow. You could put your 0-3" thuren bar on a bracket to make up the extra distance.
Ive got the thuren bar so Id hate to buy it all over again. Id imagine a drop bracket allows some more flex to enter into the steering though. Anyone?

Chris the weld in bracket is for 5"+ lift kits.
kawi600, don't even get me started on the skyjacker drop bracket. That sucker kept loosening up on me and giving me death wobble and my buddy actually had the main bolt holding it on snap on his. Needless to say we welded that sucker in there (he's to cheap to get a real track bar).
prattman, other than having to rebuild it 3 or 4 times a year I haven't had a single issue out of my DT bar.
