Been reading here off and on for awhile. Picked up some good tips and things to look for. Here is my problem. I use my truck as a daily driver about 70 miles round trip. I also pull a 20' livestock trailer and 24' flatbed a few times a month for chores around the place. The truck doesn't give me any problems. All i want is a little better pulling power with the trailers. I don't want a sreaming demon truck. I would just like better towing performance. After lots of reading and looking i have no idea what would be the best options for my situation ( it all just starts to sound the same after awhile). i know any type of upgrade would require gauges. i just dont' know if a box or new injectors or what? would be the best way to go.
what do you wise folks suggest?

WELCOME TO DTR, yes you need gauges whether you do a upgrade or not. rv 275's and a ez is a real popular towing combo. or you could do the rv's and a smarty if you want to spent a little more $$ and have more adjustablity. If you just want a little more help and not mess with injectors, get the smarty. It gives you more power down low. and i think your auto will hold it if your easy on er.

I really like the Van Aaken timing boxes for a mild towing upgrade, for strictly pulling power I like the VA over the Edge EZ, seems like the VA is a little better on the bottom & falls off quicker, where the EZ gives up a little on the bottom to stretch the power band a little farther into the rpm range, the Smarty's seem to be a great product, but you could most likely pick up a timing box & injectors for the price of the smarty, & sounds like you don't wanna go crazy with the power anyway, I really like the smoothness of the VA on my truck as well, just some suggestions, good luck whichever direction you go, Dusty
