Below is a response to a question that I posed to Chuck at New Era Diesel.

Our 370 EDM's are going to be closest to the DDP 2's. They should burn a little cleaner due to being EDM'ed and not honde. As stated before you can always move the plate around for the sweet spot. These injectors seem to like about 16.5 degrees of timing as a sweet spot. Our 370's are 380.00 + 100.00 core charge. Hope this helps.

Chuck

I have been running the 435's for about 5 months the truck runs great lots of power and burn clean at an idle. They can roll the smoke if you want them to they are a little hot for me when towing. I am considering going back to 215's just to cool it down. I like the power they are just to hot at 8000 ft.

let me know when you decide to get rid of them. when i recover from being broke (just did the 5-6 spd conversion and bought a SBC DD) i will be looking for a set of injectors.

bnraond.

Actually the combo's were:
362/862 --- B1, 181's, 370's, 3K, 17*
402/885 --- HX40/B2, II Laser Cuts, Stock Injectors, 3K, 13* ()

And I had fuel for probably 450+, but with the timing slipped, and stock headbolts, gasket, everything, I had boost set below 60psi. Before I adjusted it, I saw 73psi

I'll never run 370's again...unless I want to dyno them against stockers, or something else. I just hate the way they run, and what they do to mileage. They do make a little power, though

you mean to say swap DVs is better then injectors? even from 181 to II DVs ?? Or is it the twins that made the difference??

thanks

Well...I'm sure I'll be flamed for this, but IMO, yes!! DV's are a better alternative than 370's!! Now, if the spray pattern is correct for the piston, injectors are great. But 300's, 330's, 370's, and most of the "cheaper" injectors were NOT made for our engines. I don't care who you told you they'll work, they won't be AS efficient.

A 370 injector with advanced timing has been shown over and over again to spray outside the bowl...will it hurt anything?? Other than overall power and economy, not really. I lost 4mpg towing with 370's, and couldn't use any of the extra power because of the heat...even with twins!!

At the time, I was running my HX40/B2 twins, 370's, 181's, and 17* of timing. I would see about 38-40psi in valet mode...when I took off the 370's and 181's, and went back to stock injectors, and the II Laser Cuts, I picked up 20psi!!! Full fuel put me over 70, which is where the pop-offs were set! I adjusted them down to 60psi, and I would see about 56-57 in valet, and 60-62 in full fuel! I had plenty of fuel, too. The smoke never cleared up at all with full fuel!!

IMHO,
Chris

i have been told upgraded DVs from 181 dont really make a difference in power... maybe they do!

I've been told that too...but I've got a newsflash for them

I'm not certain on exactly what they run...I got mine on special Most places run from $250-280 exchange...or they'll usually cut your own if you send them in!!
