Only 37psi and over 1400*

Well I took my truck for the first real good pull on the highway today and I looked and only see 37psi and the alarm for egt is screaming at about 1450. There was really no smoke just a haze coming out the pipes. Why is it that hot and what can I do to fix it. It was still pulling hard but thats to hot for me

check anything that has to do with air/exhaust flow any of these will spike egts like theres no tomorrow and so will too much fuel but i dont think too much fuel is your problem(like u said nto much smoke)

Those numbers are about right. What you need to do to reduce EGT is get a larger turbo that's designed to handle more of your fueling.

Look for a larger turbine, especiall-- since your current configuration is overboosting, causing the high boost and high EGT.

What is your wastegate set at? Possibly opening too soon and limiting you to 37psi. Are you seeing any spikes above 37psi or does it not go any higher at all?

I dont know what the wastegate is set at. It is a fresh rebuild from II only 1 month old. No spikes higher than 37. It feels like something is wrong because it pulls real hard then when it get to 35 to 37 it seems to fall off fast.

Try doing a run locking out O/D to try and get some boost numbers.

Make sure the wastegate isnt opening to early.
Autos and that big housing may not get along. A 13cmSS would do better.
Switch to a 71mm xhaust side possibly.

I think there is a prcedure to check it with regulated air from a shop hose.

What gears do you have? That will make a difference...

The ps 64 and 66 wastegate should be set at 45 psi.

I'd throw a new intake on it like the afe stage 2 or something, if the wastegate is set to 45 and your only seeing 37, and its getting that hot, maybe your not getting enough air

the juice does back off but I turned the back down off so I could see what was going on. What I dont get is if there was not enoughf air I could see it being that hot but I would think there would be a lot of smoke. There is no smoke on the top and it is still smoking hot. Because its that hot I would think there is fuel but I am just not getting the boost? I dont understand this.

Your truck if falling on it's face because the wastegate is opening around 37psi. A quick and easy test is to take a pair of small vice grips and pinch the silicone line. If you suddenly find more power, boost, and lower egt's, you have just narrowed you problem to an improperly adjusted wastegate. On that turbo you have two options to adjust the gate: 1. turn the threaded rod and shorten it a few threads. 2. add a boost elbow inline so that the amount of air traveling down the wastegate silicone tube is limited thus allowing wastegate to remain closed longer.

I personally would shorten the rod.

And your turbo has plenty of air for 550 to a hot 600 HP.
