Onboard compressor Electric vs. mechanical
I recently ordered a 2500 Quad cab HO/6-speed 4X4. I'm going to need an onboard compressor. Mostly this will be used for inflating tires far from electricity, doubtful that I'd be running many air-powered tools. It will also adjust Air-Lift springs.

Here's the question. Does anyone have experience with the high end electric units (like Thomas brand) http://www.earthroamer.com/main_truck/truck_air.html compared to the York belt driven compressor conversions. http://www.onboardair.com/

The York compressors require the use of a Nippondenso alternater. Do the new H.O. CTD's come with that particular alternater?

Thanks in advance.

Re:Onboard compressor Electric vs. mechanical
I just put on a york compressor. I have had electrical pumps before, never over 100 dollars, but they never could compare to a belt driven pump. It cost me around 50 bucks for nip alternator, 75 bucks for compressor, and 150 bucks from kilby. Thats relatively cheap for awesome air. I have a thread on here about this. Dont know how to grab it and put it on here but I made it last week.
