does a regualr comp/TST have this same effect?

also if were to switch to a standard TST program, then stack a smarty for the above 2700rpms fueling...would this still put the same strain on the solenoid?

I believe the competiton version tst is normally set at 75% duty cycle. You should be fine

well after i finally come up with the money for a new VP, i plan to some day get a TST/smarty stack. id just hate to think that i'll be one of the unlucky people who repeatedly kills VP's due to the fueling box and not due to fuel pressure since i run a fast with garden hose sized lines, and never see less than 10psi WOT

Look at me. I've run a comp, TST, smarty, run the pump on low pressure, run the tank low, switch additives all the time, tapped and untapped the wire several times and mine's still ticking along. I say get your injection pump warrantied. You might not get the hrvp but at least you won't have to worry about coming up with the money. That's what I'd do. If it fails again then get the hrvp if you have the money. Like you said, you just spent a butt load of money on the truck and it would be a shame to take it all off. Just warranty the VP and save your money for something else. When it rains it pours but once it dries up everything is that much better off.
