oil return hose on HX40

oil return hose on HX40
When i put my HX40 on I had to modify the oil return hose to make it fit. I cut the metal tube and put a longer piece of rubber hose in place of it. My problem is the only 7/8" wire wound hose that I could find was not rated to hold oil or fuel. Does anyone know where I could find 7/8" hose that will work or has anyone else had to do this and what did you do to fix the problem. Thanks for any help.

Justin

Justin,

First, make sure that your turbo's drain opening is clocked properly.
Then, I would adjust your metal drain tube installed in the engine block by using a rubber mallet or placing an object in it and orientating it in the direction in which you desire.

Then your rubber drain hose should line up perfectly.

--Justin

Re:oil return hose on HX40
I did clock the turbo but the problem that I ran into was where the oil drain line mounts to the turbo. When i tried to bolt the tube to the turbo the tube would hit the turbo. I cut the tube and mounted it in the other direction so the tube was facing towards the fender then ran a hose from there to the motor. I was told that the oil return line on some years was shaped differently. I looked at my buddies 2001 and it was different than mine. My HX40 is not from piers so I am not sure if they do something differnt on theirs to fix this. I just have a stock 40. What I did is working fine I just need to find some hose that can be used for oil.
