Oil Bypass Supply Port???

Would this be the location on top of the stock filter housing I would tap into for the supply line to the bypass filter unit???

Anyone give a hand here??? I'm installing an Amsoil Single Bypass & trying to get her back togther. I've searched & read in various posts about just tapping into an existing port on top of the existing filter housing. The above pic shows the only port I can find.

Just want to get some input before I end up doing something that shouldn't be done.

It's looks like a pretty tight spot, but I'm not crazy about tying to put a T-fitting in the turbo supply line. Thanks for the reply.

when I did mine I put a 90* elbow and faced it out towards the intercooler and then installed the oil feed line for the bypass

Got the 90* in there, but not enough room on mine to go toward the intercooler. It's more towards the coolant resivoir. Anyway, got another question that's most likely going to make me feel like an idiot(more than usual)...

This is a pic of the Amsoil bypass pilter mount. Does the brass fitting need to be removed before screwing on the Bp100??? It's got a very tiny hole in the center & held in place with thread sealer. I'm pretty sure it needs to be removed, but thought I'd check anyway.

Haha! Ok, I'll leave it in. Just not sure how anything can flow through such a tiny hole. What can I say, I've never installed one of these before & there sure isn't any mention of it in the instructions. Better to ask a stupid question than to burn up a motor by doing something stupid.

It's there to restrict the flow. You only want a little oil to flow through (bypass the main filter), otherwise, it'll reduce galley pressure.

W/out that fitting your oil psi would drop significantly.

A bypass filter won't work without the tiny hole. Bypass filters are designed to have a slow flow of oil through them so they can capture the small particles down to 2 micron. Fast flow = poor filtration. Leave the brass fitting in!!
