I want my block o-ringed and I have had two prices told to me. one froms Dave at EEP 1,000$ and one From Black Mountain Diesel 600$$ I live about the same distance from both so it will not matter but I don't have 1k $ to put down on anything right now.
Then why don't you do what pro puller suggested & just buy the tool so you can DIY?

pro puller, do you happen to know the cost of the tool & source? And do you also happen to know whether it could also be used on other blocks, such as VW diesels? TIA.
Im not sure where you can get it but i know you can i seen it on other sights but im not sure who has it.Dont worry someone will chime in and tell us all where we can get on.As far as if it works on other blocks your guess is as good as mine. ;D

Re:O-Ring Time

The o-ring tool is about 1800 bucks or so. The cutter head will work on just about any application. The register plate will not fit anything but the Cummins. Another register plate is about 850-900 bucks.

Cutter bits/blades are around 35-40 bucks a piece.

Personally we cut all o-ring grooves on a Hurco CNC mill using a boring bar style head when cutting them into the cylinder head. IF cutting the block the same thing applies, but their cut with the boring machine. The o-ring cutters are just fine, but the guy using it needs some experience or the mess they make is not reversable. I have seen a cylinder head and block roached from a messy o-ring job using the cutter.

Re:O-Ring Time

I paid about $1,400 shipped for a ported, O-ringd new head.

If you would consider shipping the head, I can arrange for your head to be o-ringd for not too much. Probably less than you think. If you want to PM me, we can talk. A new headgasket, new head bolts, some intake gaskets, and you'll be back on your way.

BTW, Why is it time for o-rings? That B-1 makin' some boost ?
