Question nv 5600

hey everyone, i'm fixin to purchase an 2000 3500 4x4 with a 6 speed which i read somewhere on here that it has the 1 1/4 input shaft. i also heard that the 1 1/4 is only good to 500. do yall know of anyone who sells an upgrade kit to the 1 3/8 shaft. thanks richie

southbend clutch sells an upgrade shaft.
But I know someone who ran one and sledpulled with it up into the 700hp area and it never broke.

I thought all of the NV5600's had the 1 3/8 shaft?

the earlier model 6 speeds (99-01.4 none HO) had the 1 1/4 shaft. not to alot of them around

I said earlier sbc sells an upgrade shaft.
Well I told you wrong.
They sell a 1 3/8's input upgrade for nv4500's. Its not the same as the nv5600 shaft.

You can buy the regular nv5600 1 3/8's shaft from a tranny rebuilder.

about how much would it cost to get the shaft replaced along with a dd clutch?

Are you lookin to sled pull or act stupid with the truck/trans? Most of em don't break on the dirt, but when one gets stupid on the concrete, thats when things break.
