Nut on rear of pump

today when i was thinking i was turning up the pump. i took off this aluminum cap thing and then lossed a nut and then turned a screw that was kinda difficult to reach. was this the main power screw on the pump?

Let the pyrometer be your guide there. Turn it in 1/2 turn increments and test drive. If the engine is slow to return to idle when revved, back the screw off 1/2 turn, that's your warning that you've gone too far and could have a runaway.

Fill in your signature, decribing your vehicle and accessories. If you don't have gauges, don't turn it too far. If your truck is inner-cooled, you may be stressing the pump if you turn it way up without getting bigger injectors to releave the pressure. The non inner-cooled trucks have slightly larger injectors than later trucks and I think can get away with a bit more turning. I haven't maxed mine, because I still have the stock exhaust anyway. I've been putting off a 4", because I'm leaning towards stretching my frame.

Lucky there...
The more you turn up the pump, the more you have to bring the idle back, BUT, they like to run at slightly better than stock idle. Godd for oil circulation around the crank, and should be better for it if you have to idle for a while.
