Well I'd plan on paying over a $1,000 for any aftermarket turbo......those things just aren't cheap unless you can find a used one!!

Just need to specify that the HT3B should be going UNDER the stock turbo, not replacing it.

If you can find a junk HX40 with good housings on it(about $100 on ebay), you can buy a whole centersection with both compressore and exhaust wheels, new bearings, and shaft for lik $420. Slap the housings on it, and a 4 inch downpipe, and your in good shape.

Ok, sounds pretty good. Could ya be a little more specific on "centersection"? Im a bit new to turbo's, does that mean housing? And what is a good brand/source for these parts? Would the upgraded turbo be on par with say a jammer BB?

My goal is 350 -400HP, but Im doind this in stages. Stage one is intake, intake manifold, exhaust manifold, turbo and exhaust. Stage 2 is Aux pump, Injectors and chip. Stage 3 is tranny upgrades, suspension, cam shaft, fancy stuff.

I want to get all of stage one done in one bang, which means saving cash on the turbo. So the upgraded HX40 would be good for all this?

Thanks a ton grease monkies, think Im becoming a convert.

By center section, I am reffering to what I guess is really called the cartridge.Your turbo basically has two housing(exhaust and compressor), and the center section which consists of the bearings. The shaft goes through the bearings and then you have an exhaust wheel on the exhaust housing side, and a compressor wheel on the compressor housing side. Pretty simple really. www.htturbo.com told me they would sell me the center section fully rebuilt with new bearings and all along with a new shaft, and new compressor and exhaust wheels for like $420. Which leaves only the housings that you have to provide.
This is about the best diagram I could find, but you get the idea:
