Ok. Now that I have the gauges installed and the dowel pin tabbed what should be next? The truck will stay a daily driver, tow a trailer with 2 Polaris ATV's and eventually carry a camper.
1. TST #10 plate
2. 3gsk
3. aFe or scotty II
4. New Exhaust system
5. Mag-Hytec pans for tranny, front and rear differential
Also which is better the aFe or the Scotty II? I am leaning toward the Scotty II but would entertain all opinions from folks running either.
thanks

Hey there, the first things I plan to do with my truck is gauges, exhaust and intake. I have decided on going with the Scotty II. I was just wondering what do you mean by dowel pin tabbed? Is this a simple mod and what are its benefits...
Thanks

Aklabs, do the first 2 on your list. That'll give you the most bang for the buck. Don't go to crazy on sliding the plate or you'll be doing some tranny work. Trust me. I know first-hand.
Diesel_kid, there's an inherent flaw with the earlier Cummins. A pin in your timing cover can/will fall out and either jam in your timing gears or get spit out through the timing case. Either way it'll cost you in money or labour since you'll be pulling the cam to change the case. Do a search on killer dowel pin or KDP and settle back for some reading. There's two ways to take care of it. Either method will work and should take you an afternoon and less than $100.

Exactly Berner. The dowel pin is not exactly a mod but a fix to a problem that is cheaper then the possible expensive repair.
I'll go for the TST #10 plate and 3gsk's. Should have the money to do that in about 2 months or so.
Thanks for your input and in helping me make a good choice for the next mod.
