Welcome to DTR

before you get to playing with the fuel, you have to monitor the fire that you will be adding to ur engine. I dont suggest you do anything until you get a good set of gauges for your truck first. Pyrometer and FP on a 24valve are a must, Boost is nice to know, but totally optional.

Others, such as Blackdiesel, Displacedtexan, Bigblue and other 24V people will shortly chime in.

Welcome Cowboy! You can check out this thread https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...d.php?t=115035 I've been doing some thinking about mine(2002) and this is what some of the other guys are running and their numbers. Difference between mine and yours is I can get away with $700-800 clutch and you'll have to think about beefing up your trans. Just so you have that figured into your Bombs. I think some guys have bombed their trucks and just run the tranny til it pukes, then do something. I've heard a lot of good about the smarty and here about the tst as well, how good they are in my opinion...well, I have to get one or the other first!

Yeah! What Rick said....forgot abut the gauges and fuel! Have to make sure you can feed the fuel, i.e, big lines(Vulcan/Scotty) or FASS so you can keep your VP44 going. Still working on my fuel part

By far the best bang for the buck for a stock truck needing guages and wanting power is the hot edge juice. Smarty and tst with analog guages is a pretty sweet setup though.

Are you going to sell the power puck or do you want to run that too?

only thing wrong with the tst is that it will blow your stock auto to peices.

i can voutch for the smarty/tst pm3 comp stack. one heck-of-a-combo right there! you will have to upgrade your turbo though! im runnin a sps 62. (going to twins later) This truck will flat run now.

now go get guages!

and when you find out your fp is not satisfactory, upgrade with a holley blue or walbro or any of the other upgrades out there. Search for them and you'll find hours of reading
