Did you drive on 37s much before the gear change? I'm wondering just how long I will be able to stand it before I give in and regear.

I'm a few weeks out still, I went the mix and match route so parts are coming from all over the place.

I never drove it without the 4.56 gears. I bought it lifted and it was already geared. I will go 4.10s when the time comes for a repair. The cruising speed on the highway is hard on the RPMs. I hit 2250 at 75mph. Great when towing, but I do not tow all that much so it is not worth it to me.

I never drove it stock but it rides a lot better than my brother-in-laws f250. It is not like a car by any means. The best thing I did was get rid of the old super swampers and got the toyos. It was an amazing difference in the ride and drive quality with the toyos.

Front end is done. Had to ship the rear stuff back to be re-machined for the 4" axle tubes of the 70/80 in my truck

Those arms are problematic to me. The Heim at the frame will not absorb any vibration. I'd expect the arms to transmit a lot of harshness to the frame, and you might have hole elongation problems with the holes drilled in the frame for the brackets.

They'll also tend to wander on the hwy a bit.

But if you want maximum flex, that's what you have to put up with.

Nice truck!

The reason I was asking about the arms is I am getting ready to make a pair of longer arms and need ideas for the ends . I don't need maximum flex I don't want a lot of harshness either .

Really good looking truck. I live in Temecula/Murrieta and work in San Diego. If you do take the flares off, I might be intrested in them. Let me know.

They are Rock Krawler Arms. There honestly is no perfect true long arm kit out there for 2nd Gens. The DC arms were good but have had quality control problems and are not all that strong from that I hear. Their brackets are good and a lot of guys will run the arms until they bend and build them over again with better materials. All the other long arm kits out there just have a long bottom arm from what I have seen. Thuren makes some Radius arms and One Up Offroad is just about to roll a 96 into their shop and start work on some super trick radius arms as well.

The RK arms are nothing special but strong and good enough for how I will use the truck. 2" solid lowers and 1 5/8" solid uppers, bushings at the FRAME end and heims at the axle end. There are crush sleeves in the frame, I was supposed to weld them on one end but skipped out on that. I'm going to weld the frame brackets net time I'm around a good machine. At 30ish" the RK arms are nothing compared to the DC arms (48" I think). I did not have to cut my body mounts though. The truck is done now, I'm going to put some pictures in the lifted cummins thread.

Hey can someone tell me if the skyjacker 4.5"lift really lifts it that much?
