Took it out for a quick drive tonight, clutch slips in 1st and 2nd when pushed harder. Least that's what I'm assuming it's doing... rev's climb, truck just gradually gets going. I'll have to get the trailer hooked on to confirm. Any new posts will probably be about clutches for awhile.

Not sure if you have gauges, but if you do you can check how good(or bad) EVERY MOD YOU DO(if done separately), by the egt's and boost you see afterwards. Intake and exhaust mods will create a better flowing setup, reduce egt's, and give quicker spoolup.
Simple and cheap setup is BHAF(with shield), and cut out the muffler. I guess no one warned you what would happen to the clutch though did they, with the extra power you added?

Actually, it seemed like everyone mentions injectors and boxes are hard on stocker clutches. I knew it could happen anytime, but so soon? I think the previous owner of the truck had a box on it so I'm not suprised. I'll have to do some research on these south bend units and decide if I can do it myself or if I need to farm it out. Turbo is going to have to wait a year

I've had pretty good luck so far using the stock box. Removed the boot, filled in the fenderwell past the hole, then drilled a 4" hole in the box and cowl. Huge difference. I haven't decided what to replace my K&N with. I'm leaning towards this at the moment: http://store.airflo.com/c105004.html

I wouldn't worry about upgrading the turbo. If all your hitting is 1250* on a steep hill with that load then your doing just fine on the egt's. If your scared of that temp then just back it off a little.

I was towing today, egt's are not to bad. I have to back off when I'm pushing 1300. I assume that's sort of the max, for any lengthy period of time. If I can knock it down a few degrees with the 4" exhaust, that would be good. My clutch apperently is not a problem right now After adding the 275's I reach defuel very quickly in first and second, much faster than before. I thought I could smell the clutch a bit last night but it towed with no issues today.
