I just went through this same thing. I ended up putting the original equipment 265's back on. I was after fuel mileage. I had 285 Goodyear MTR's on and was not happy with them

I have a set of 235 65 16 for sale on the stock rims almost brand new would be about 31s

MTR are a great rock Tire

I was going two tires a week in the desert until we switch to MTR then maybe two tires a month at Work. Noise tire and they wander some on the highway.

i would probably go to 285's. i hate the 305's i have now. might as well have gotten the 315's again. if i stay with 315's and tow with the edge ez would it hurt my stock tranny? or should i definetly get a smaller tire to spare my tranny?

I think any over sized tires are stressful to a stock automatic. DTT is very interested in what size tires you will run, when recommending tranny upgrades. It's the first question they ask when you talk to them.
