new timing box, or ditch the fuel only box altogether??

well today I think my Van Aaken box went south, first my check engine light came on, but I only had the P1693 code??? after driving for another hour or so I got a dead pedal then it came back, then died after a mile or so, then came back & would only rev to about 1500 rpms????? I limped a mile or two & then stopped & tried to pull the codes again & still only had the 1693, pulled my VA box off & it started up & everything worked fine?????? may try hooking it back up & greasing the plugs good, but if it turns out to be the box, what would you guys replace it with??? another VA?? or maybe the adjustable, Bullydog torque dog??? or maybe go with an Edge "Hot" Juice Attitude combo, & ditch the bluechip, I have analog gauges now, so guess the only reason I'd get the attitude monitor would be the shift on the fly feature, what do you guys think????? thanks, Dusty

not sure what I'm gonna do with it yet?? but I'll send ya a PM if I decide to let it go, what's the hp on your drag comp???? I'd considered going to it, but like I said I'm not 100% sure which route to go, I really like the adjustability of the Blue Chip, & the gauges are ok, but I really like the analog gauges alot better, I trust them alot more for some reason, & as far as the Smarty goes, how well do you guys think it would stack with the FMS box????? has anyone tried that combo??? thanks a bunch for the replies, Dusty

I would think it would play well with the FMS, as it is similar in function to the TST box, that is so popular with the Smarty users. But I haven't heard of anyone using the FMS and Smarty that I can remember.

I'm getting 433HP with what's in my sig right now. I'll be installing a Phatshaft 62 this week so the numbers should change.
