New sticks soon (boost question)

Will be having my 1.6's installed this weekend
Currently running a Smarty with a manual boost controller (adjusted fully one way to give me maximum boost with current setup) and my boost is 32 PSI.
After the stick install, how much more boost should I expect? Will I most likely need to adjust the MBC down, so as not to go above ~35 PSI (so as to stay in the efficiency range of the stock turbo)?

Thanks,
~Rob

The DD instructions I have seen make it look pretty simple, but I have a tendency to be ham fisted. I want to watch/help an experience person do it the first time (that way when I upgrade to 4's I can do it ).
Beside, I can't screw my truck up, I need it to get me home on vacation to PA in July

Rob, like BD said it is extremely simple. I will be glad to lend a hand. We put my Mach's in this past weekend. My boost prior to the install was around 32. After the install my boost will shoot up to 40 and then drop back down to 32-34. (Assume defuel is the cause). It will be interesting to see how responsive it is w/my comp, Mach's, and your Smarty "hit". I don't know if you will see boost that high b/c I don't know if the Smarty puts as much fuel as the comp does. I bet you get the boost quicker though

If you want it to stay more exact on your settings from you MBC.. you'll need to modify the exhaust housing so it wastegate works on both ports from the the manifold... (Take the exhaust housing off, remove the back plate from the exhaust housing, unhook the wastegate actuator.. and drill the hole through to the front passage in the exhaust housing... )
Do a search.. there's some good pics on here about this mod...
The only real difference is that you won't see that spike.. is it hurting anything.. not really.. as long as the pressures are not getting to carried away..

No ,im thinking of taking it to one just to see what its doing .I didnt think I was going to be able to out run and pull 6.0s or D maxes but last years trip to mexico 6 of us drove our RVs down and I ran away from all of them with the heavyest load and had the best MPGs doing it. its the perfect combo. for the stock turbo.

A smarty might be even better as far as controling smoke . Ill keep the catcher Im used to driving it now.

I see about 36 psi at WOT.
I am getting to where I can drive it without smoke. I am rev'ing higher (to about 2500 RPM's) before I shift, and I am trying to shift quicker, so I don't lose all the boost. I have also figured out how to get on the skinny pedal so that I don't lug it or that I don't dump too much fuel at once.

That thing will flat out scoot. Merging on the highway is fun

Getting that injector surge on lugging situations? I just wonder if the 1.6's do it as bad as the 2's......i dont mind it...but with the 315 tires now....its more noticable on slow situations.....and i got a 5 speed....not a good gear between 3rd and 4th.......
