New Smarty Jr??

The ad says for '03 - '07 24V trucks....is there one available for the 98.5 - 02 VP44 24V trucks yet? If not are they going to make on and when is it expected to come to market?

There's a early list I'd like to consider but I think it's only for the common rail guys

Bob Wagner...anyone? Bueller??

Seems like it will only be for the CR, for now, atleast.

that's exactly what I was afraid of ...seems like a great product...

Anyone know when target is for a release for us 24V VP44 guys...??? Or are we to forever remain the beaten red headed stepchild of MADS Electronics??

Probably never. It seems like everyday I read about complaints because MADS has done nothing for the VP crowd in what seems like ages. If they can't/won't offer us updates on a current product why would they offer us a "slimmer" version of their product that would also be destined to be neglected?

You are just a red headed stepchild, those of use who have actually bought a Smarty or MADS ECM or in my case both, are the beaten ones...

Seriously, they would have to create a wire tap box to get above the power level they currently have with the vp44 Smarty. Although, I guess they could make a Smarty Jr that does 15-30-60hp! Yippee!

In all fairness, Bob is just a distributor of the Smarty.

Why can the common rails get so much more power out of the Smarty than us VP guys? They can get like 130 HP and ours is like 60.

Because you really can't massage any more power out of the VP44 unless you tap the wire and take complete control of the fueling and timing. Common rail guys don't have that issue with the CP3's. You want more fuel? You got it...

THOUGH, if you wanna take control of the VP44 with a wire tapping box there are plenty of boxes out there that fuel so hard you can run the injection pump dry with over fueling. Just can't do it as "easy" as a common rail guy.
