New reliable Injection pump???

Does anyone know if ANY company is working to create an injection pump that will never suffer the fate of the VP's? Ok, we have heard about starvation of fuel can kill them, so, people get aftermarket LP setups. VP's still die. We hear of ULSF killing VP's because of thier lack of lubricating properties. We add lubricity back in the fuel will aftermarket additives. VP's still die. We hear of the circuit board overheating and frying which kills the VP. I have yet to hear of a solution for this.

So my question is a popular one. When will someone go through and fix these things and offer us a reliable unit? I don't buy into the wiretapping killing the VP. It may be but if the electronics were up to par, this would not be an issue. I just think companies who sell VP's know they are not long for this world, and they know that most people eventually alter thier diesels through programs so they use that as an excuse to run one in us when these hunks of junk fail.

It is a racket. And a very expensive one. We can make our trannies, clutches, engines, and axle bulletproof. So when is a company going to step up and say "this will be the last injection pump you will ever need"? Tap it, flog it, starve it, it just keeps coming back for more. This is something that would sell.

P.S. If one is already offered, please tell me who makes it and disreguard my previous rant. LOL

Mine is still running fine with 68k on the clock. I just know that eventually, it will be a problem. You would think that after almost a decade of VP44 use in these trucks, someone would be able to fix this problem.

Well, in the diesel world, injection pumps in general are always a thing that requires somekind of repairs, some more than others. Otherwise there would be no such thing as a pump shops. Nothing is bulletproof.

On one hand there have been numerous updates done to the vp44's over the years. Yeah, just kind of polishing a turd, but the new ones should be better than the originals.

Its kind of foolhardy to think that running the vp past its designed limitations isn't going to cause it to wear out faster. No proof, just pure speculation.

Well in reguards to dodge fixing the problem with the CR trucks that is a joke i just sold a truck (more like gave it away) because the new and improved pressed in valve seat became unpressed and the motor developed a taste for valves long story short cracked the head and busted the cylinder wall. i would rather replace vp's than whole motors not to mention the cost of injectors i can buy the best 24 injectors with no core charge for (700-900) vs stock CR injectors (2600 plus core charge) i guess i 'm just looking at cost of ownership and all things equal it is cheaper to own a 24 valve than a CR.
