New Mods installed and impressions
Thought i would report my inpressions on new mods done to a 100 percent stock truck with 40000 miles. I make the same 350 mile trip once or twice a month so fuel mileage is accurate. Went over to Timinva's shop and had RV275's and a Vulcan pusher big line kit installed with new lift pump.
1. Stock truck:
A. Fuel Pressure, 10 idle, 7-8 Cruise, 5 WOT
B. Fuel mileage: City 17, Highway 55-63mph, 20-21
2. After installing RV275's and Vulcan big line pusher kit with new lift pump.
A. Fuel Pressure, 15-16 idle, 14-15 Cruise, 13-14 WOT
b. Fuel mileage: City 17, Highway 55-63mph, 22.5
After installing the 275s normal exceleration(about 6-7lbs boost) from stop, maybe a very minimal gain(almost no improvement).
Excellerating from about 55mph. Have a good gain. Seems to climb rolling hills alot better. Boost also comes up quicker. Seems to use less pedal to maintain speed. I am very easy on the go pedal and at highway speed i try to stay below 5lbs boost. Engine is alot smoother sounding at idle, does not hammer as loud, if i had to guess it sounds more like a 12valve.
On fuel mileage the old stock injectors did have some carbon build-up, so i think the spray pattern was not as a new injector. When truck was new i was able to get 21-22 on the highway, over time it did drop a little. Also use power service at every fillup.
All in all i am very pleased with the result, exspecially with the fuel pressure numbers. I think the RV275's is a very good install, it took a couple days to get a good feel for the results, but i do like them for the highway performance.
Thanks Tim for all the help you have given.

RAM2940,
I'm going to be putting on the RV275 in athe near future in my 02. I was wondering if you are running a box of some type or a boost fooler? and if you are what is it?
thanks,
matt

No boostfooler or power box, i'm just running the 275s by themselves. I just keep a eye on the boost gage if i have to get on it, But i usally drive real easy. Still have a stock tranny.

I also just put in 275 injectors. I have a Van aaken that I put an on/off toggle switch on. I never could get above 14.5 mpg with my old injectors no matter how easy I drove it, but on my first tank with the box on, no towing, and a fairly light foot, my mileage jumped to 17.9. I am very pleased with idle quality and quietness, mpg increase, responsiveness, and power. My boost went from 26 to 30+. I would definitely recommend these injectors for towing. The only thing I noticed is a little more shudder at low rpm like a HO with too much timing, but if I turn the box off that fixes that problem. I don't think there is much more smoke either.
