Had a few hard starts (maybe 10 out of 100) over the last 2 weeks, a little less than normal acceleration from a dead stop and some white smoke at startup.
No loss of Fuel Pressure and above 30 mph it felt like all 500 horses were alive and well (unless loss of power gradually snuck up on me).
Was showing the P1693 code. Had it scanned today and got P0216. Another dying VP44 Injector Pump!
Guess 88,000 miles is better than some.

Key only showed companion code - P1693.
Guess I should be thankful it did not die in the middle of nowhere?
Mine CTD is still running. Did yours die totally? Maybe that's the difference.
We had a dyno at the Racetrack Saturday night....I knew something was not right when I put down 441 HP.....about 80 less than expected!

Yup, Like the Waco Club's Camping weekend in the 13,000th largest city in Texas! I know it's small, Blue...but I think it still starts with a capital 'S' ?
At least, if my VP-44 died at our weekend, I would have had "Facilities"

It would sound like a switch had turned off the engine clatter at 2000 rpm-- it just hummed with no rattle.
I still get occasional bouts of dead pedal, but I'm convinced it's the APPS. I get APPS codes. It always comes back and starts working in a couple seconds.
Just annoying, nothing major.

Then off/on/off/on leaving it on.
Watch the odometer window, codes will read out there.
P-PCU followed by any codes in the PCM, P-ECU followed by the ECM codes, then ending with P-Done.
If no codes follow the PCU or ECU, then no codes that can be retrieved with this method are present.
