New guy needs some advice
Hey Guys! I am new to this site , and I am sure that this has been discussed to death , But I pull a five horse trailer with living quarters and just got a new edge juice with attitude(125hp)4" high flow exhaust and an Afe air filter. I like the way the truck pulls in the 125 hp extreme setting. Am I going to do damage to my motor in that setting? what should my boost and exhaust tempuratures be set at so the chip will backdown if needed.I spent the extra money on exhaust etc so I could run this size of chip . If this chip does advance the timing , maybe I shouldn`t use it??The truck only has 45 ,000 miles on it , so I don`t really want to wreck the engine or shorten the lifespan too much. Can you give some advice fellas?? 02 1ton dually

First off welcome to the DTR!!
Do you have guages? If so as long as you watch your guages and don't let it get to hot I think you'll be fine. Look around at different peoples signatures and you'll see that there are a lot of guys here running a lot more power than that and have some pretty decent milage racked up on there trucks. Now your tranny on the other hand, it might not like it at all.

I have the edge monitor
The edge monitor gives me all the gauges I need . I am just not sure how hot is too hot and how much boost is too much boost.I can set it to back down at any temp or pressure I want . I just don`t know the numbers to enter . I have a six speedtranny , so it should handle it o.k. And as for the timing issue , Should I pull my horse trailer in the 125 setting?

Welcome to the site.
Full time gauges are cheap insurance when you start adding fuel.
In 'Normal' operation you'd like to keep the EGTs below 1200*f
Short runs (like a 1/4 mile at a time at the track....) above 1300* won't hurt but avoid a long pull at high temps unless you REALLY want to rebuild the engine.
Boost should take care of itself as the fuel is limited.
Your tranny likeing all that added power towing a heavy load........ THAT'S a whole different kettle-o-fish.

1250 is the max sustained temp. But you can let it get alot hotter than that as long as you don't hold it very for more than a few seconds. As far as boost presures go, 35 psi is about the max efficeny range of your turbo, anymoe than that and your just overspooling wich makes hot air that's not good for EGT's or power.
