Helps if you have someone help you from above while most of it is done from below, but pretty simple install, just be sure she is cold before you do it, that darn turbo gets hot!!!

Does the bully dog one come with instructions? I got a better look at my waste gate today and realized it might be a little easier even with just a before and after pic

Don't know, I have the one from TST but it only goes on one way so you would be able to figure it out pretty easy.

Bjans, you said earlier to get a j-hook for sure. Now you say boost elbow. Did you mean j-hook for HY, boost elbow for HX?

Never mind i just saw your post on a dif thread about j-hooks.
Does anyone have a bully dog j-hook? I was just on xtreme diesel and it gives detailed instructions on install.. Has anyone done this exact set up? If so, what kind of boost numbers are you seeing with it?

All of the actual J-hooks (BD, BullyDog, TST) all use the same spring so they should all go to approx 29lbs (occasionally mine will peak above 30lbs but will settle to 29-30lbs). This is their design to keep the smaller HY turbo in its effective range. If you want to just "try" it go to the hardware store and buy a few turnbuckles and play with them. You'll figure it out quickly, but beware you will go past 30lbs with this setup and risk hurting the turbo. The j-hook is the safe way.

See thats what Im most worried about. I know that not every engine runs the exact same which means its components dont either and with my truck being my only dd/work truck, I cant afford for it to be down for any reason, like a turbo explosion :/. On the other hand, untill i can afford a new turbo Im dying to get my hands on more boost to hold me over. Hence all the questions haha

Ya j hook for the hy and a boost elbow for the hx. Or get a turnbuckle and fix it shut!

The whole point of this thread is that you cant do that with an HY turbo, with the hx you can replace the brass elbow.

as I said before I used a heavy spring from the wastegate to alt bracket, if anyone wants a pic pm me your e-mail and I'll forward it, it cost me nothing as I had the spring laying around in the garage, I think it was an old screen door spring, works good I can hit 29psi on 5x5 or 5x6 with the juice
