new clutch

ok so my clutch has been slippin quite a but lately........i call up SBC and i told them i normally pull 8k# and have been for 80 k miles on my stock clutch with 90hp chip, he says.... go with the 12.5 inch clutch.....$648, or the 13 inch.....$999........so i then call a SBC distributor in ft worth, they say the 12.5 inch clutch for $375 (700ftlbs) should handle it since the stock has been workin this long. im very inexperienced and also very poor lol especiall yafter i buy a clutch.....i realize bigger is better, but could i prolly get buy with the 700 ft lb SBC clutch?

thanks in advance for all advice or scoldings you may have.
