New boost gauge, how much boost should I have ?

I just installed a boost gauge. Sitting still, in park, idling there is 0 Psi of boost. I ran the engine up to 1500 RPM for about 20 seconds, still in park, and only saw about 2 pounds of boost. Is that normal ? I can't drive it yet, I have to tighten up the exhaust clamps and get a hanger welded.

By lookin at the mods on youre sig you may not build up much boost till you start driving down the road. With youre mods you should see 20 pds of boost or more at WOT. If you still dont see over ten at WOT then you may wanna check for leaks.

You can't really build boost without a load on the engine, and you should defuel at just over 20 psi.

Why would anyone be runnin a 40 without fuel to spool it? And if you do have fuel enough to spool it you could have burned you pistons and or valves already...
