New Battery Install+Edge Juice W/A=Stoopid ME

Hello Boys and Girls! I had previously posted that my OEM batteries had finally died after 13 years. I installed new batteries today, hooked up all the wires, including the Edge Juice W/A, fired the old girl up and BAZING! There's a CEL. I remembered from my original Edge install that if you hooked things up wrong it would fire off a CEL and sure enough, darn it, there it was . I went back to the Edge install booklet and they are saying that the only way to get rid of the CEL was to take it to an authorized dealer for the usual $100.00 rip off. Is there any other way to get the ECM to drop the CEL trigger code? If I unhook the batteries for a few hours would this do the trick?

I really don't want to have to see a dealer for this and I don't know anyone here that has a scan tool to remove the pesky code. Any advice will be gratefully appreciated! Thanks for reading.

Cheers!

Mike

I realize that my query sounds a bit "dumb". I was in full panic mode last night due to a bunch of other crap going on at the same time I threw the CEL. I just want to be sure that any scanner will clear the code or is this one of those dealer only type situations that require their special computer/scanner software?

Thanks for your patience and Cheers!
