Good job, fortunately I learned years ago about the various types of showers ;D. Gas is the worst.
For those attempting to do any fuel line work I have 2 suggestions.
1 I always keep a shallow drain pan close so if the shower starts you can keep the size of the pool down to a minimum. It will also buy you a little time to think how you want to stop the shower.
2 I always tie a rag losely to each wrist, this may look funny but it is better than getting an arm pit full of diesel or gasoline.

Actually, I think Joel and I did pretty good. We took the line loose from the tank to the lift pump by taking it loose at the lift pump first and held it up high enough so that it wouldn't siphon. Joel installed the new line into the lift pump and all I had to do was to slice the stock line enough so that I could pull it off and slip the new line on quickly. I liked the rag-idea Frosty suggested. ;D
We did remove the filter canister, but didn't take the filter housing loose from the motor because of the fuel lines going into the top on my 99.

When I did mine, I also swapped in the Holley Black at the same time. Never work on your truck at 9 o'clock at night in 45* weather. Especially when you have the chance of getting wet.

I had to change the water pump on one of my CJs once when it was about 15* outside. I was in an unheated, unattached garage. It kinda sucks that Antifreeze can actually be in liquid form and still be well below freezing. It was colder than working with your hands in a bucket of ice.

How to avoid Diesel shower
Equipment needed
1. Three foot section of 3/8-fuel line.
2. Sharp utility knife.
3. Remove cap from fuel tank.
From the top of the engine use the utility knife to cut the factory Teflon line right behind the snap fitting on the lift pump.
Holding the end of the Teflon line that leads down to the frame in one hand slide the 3/8 hose over it with your other hand. This may be a little tight but it will go. Yes you will stand on your head to do this but you will avoid the diesel shower.
After connecting the 3/8 hose to the factory Teflon hose blow into the other end of the 3/8 line until you hear a bubbling sound from the tank fill spout. This will stop any siphoning of fuel while you complete your install. I highly recommend that you keep the end of the hose you will be blowing into elevated during this process I am sure diesel fuel tastes as bad as it smells.
The only down side to this is it will take some time to re-prime the system. But it also takes time for the diesel smell ware off too. You can scrub until you remove skin and not remove the odor of diesel fuel.

This one kit well worth the money.
I have one on my 01 and have 15psi at an idle and 12/13 running down the road with a 8/1000 lbs load running 65 mph.
I may need another one for my wives truck, unless she buys a 2004.

Update on the fuel system upgrade.
Everything is still working well. Fuel pressures are steady and no leaks. IMO this fuel line is going to help the VP44 and lift pump last longer. It was worth the diesel showers. ;D
