Yes I lost a '99 vp44 but I did have 221,000 on it. I also had completely stock fuel lines and pump with rv275 injectors. I rarely put any conditioner in it. I had been through three lift pumps and ran 170,000 or more with no gages. All heavy pulling.

205,000 with oringinal vp and just replaced the oringinal lp because it would drop under 5psi wot and took too long to prime after filter change. My truck was bombed at 100k with injectors and comp. At 150k the trans was replace with DTT, the tc was slipping, the rest of the trans was still good for the miles. Only used additives a couple times,Power Service brand. My truck has been very dependable. Just got back from a 6000 mile round trip to CA and back.

95000 KM
2001.5 ,auto,quad,4x4, 95000 KM,Canada, lift pump original 14# idle,10# hiway, got the limp mode 5 times since I bought it new, went to my dealer the other day, said it was the VP44,guess what, now Dodge is letting dealers order as many pumps as they want,no questions asked so lo and behold pumps are now back ordered at the factory, said as soon as he gets one they will slap it on and even do the fast idle,3 cyl. thing while their at it,all under warrenty,Dinsmore Dodge,Estevan Sask. Canada, superb service at all times. Running Solidsteels Dss Steering bracket, Solidsteels Track- bar Bracket with 2003 track-bar (rubber bushings both ends) drives like a Caddy.

Control Group

Maybe you could run a control group too. Same four question without failures. That may be benficical to the study.
I have got Geno's Bangos but never have taken the time to install them and fuel guage from Andy.. I hate changing the fuel filters, the fear factor of failed lift pump. Change lthe filter ast weekend and forgot to bump the starter, I filled the fuel filter with clean diesel thank god, short story, it startd and die imedately, then would start, so I bump the switch about six ccyle. nothing. engine dead, ??? then crank the engine several more times. I was ready to change the Lift pump then caught hold and all is well.
Thanks to GOD.
Cheers

JBlock,
Really the way I have it set up, those who have not had failures are in essence the control group. Statistical Analysis, at least the way I will present it with the data given, will end up being more of a failure rate per (X) trucks with an accompanying confidence level (expressed in terms of percentage) for that failure rate.
A control group scenario would look like 10 trucks with ONE of the mods and 10 trucks STOCK.
Test for an arbitrary 50k or something and see what failed at an increased rate.
See the difference?
Thanks for the suggestion though. Scott
