My fleetguard FUEL filters have no paint, blue or otherwise on them, just bare plastic.

I have no idea what the over-valved trucks use.

Just to keep everyone abreast, I would like to get about 100 votes before completing a statistical analysis. Scott
BTW does anyone know where I can find out exactly how many members DTR has?

Scott.. only thing that was missing was those that are still on their first pump...
133,000 and still kickin...
38,000 with DDIII's
105,000 With Drag Comp.. (second comp box.)
Second lift pump.. (first was still pumping.. but pressure was getting lower... )

Still on the original VP44 at 132,000+.
1 LP at 89,000 (Old one still has good pressure, just changed them out do to it having the original LP still. Original LP is in the tool box as a spare.)
104,000 added RV275's
108,000 added Edge EZ
Don't have guages either. They will be here next month.

Every 24 valve I have owned, and that is one in every year they were made, has tossed the VP44, and the lift pumps repeatedly. I finally solved the problem by using the FASS system and removing the OEM lift pump - that truck has now gone over 100,000 miles with a set of 275 injectors and a Power Edge Comp system with no more problems. The pump issue is addressed quite well on one of the aftermarket performance guy's websites, and has to do with disintegration of the stator and erosion of the delivery valve from low fuel flow and cavitation due to air in the fuel.
The VP44 has no lubrication or cooling other than the fuel, so keeping enough flowing to cool and lubricate the pump is critical.
Also, I have never had one that was not powered up and driven hard, and I do know a couple of guys that have never had a problem in 175,000 miles or so, but they generally drive empty and have trucks made for the 2002 model year.
