Need shocks

Could someone recommend a good set of front shocks that do not cost an arm and a leg? For moderate to heavy use an on a 3500.Thanks in advance.

Re:Need shocks

Rancho's or KYBs. I like my Rancho 9000x adjustables for towing vs non towing. Srigs

Rancho 9000's, without the remote. Forget about the 5000's.

Re:Need shocks

Rancho's. . . . Been there, done that. Go KYB Monomax and try to get over the pink-orange color.

well...I don't have them yet, but I think I'm going Bilsteins. $240 for all 4. Supposed to outlast anything else.

Re:Need shocks

go with the KYB or the Bisteins they are what is called a monotube shock and have about 280-300 psi of nitrogen gas vs 88-95 psi on everything else that is on the market. Plus a hudge difference in quality of construstion. They are both designed to be a 100,000 mile unit.

Re:Need shocks

Thanks everyone, I needed the input and advice. The shocks that I had on my old 91 Dodge were from Napa. They were not bad shocks, as far as ride was concerned but they would wear out about every 6mo to a year. The only good thing about them was that they were lifetime guarantied. I traded shocks at least 4 times, I was beginning to think that I would wear the mounting bolts out.

Re:Need shocks

They were on sale at a Dodge dealer in Coeur d'Alene, ID. They were new. I am pretty sure they were 9000's. I'll check Monday to make sure.

When I got my 9000s... I couldn't find them cheaper than $89/ea. :-
