need pads

well its time for new pads, called around and everyone told me they do not make ceramic pads for my truck, is this true? i have been quoted anywhere from $24 to $65 for semi mets. i have this problem with on the throttle till i slam the brakes, i cant imagine a $24 set of pads stopping this truck. so who has the best stoppers out there?

I use carbo-met pads from Dodge brake guru Sam Peterson @ 360-357-4958
Under $50, shipping included, gets you pair of pads perfectly matched to our rotors along with new pins, lube and anti-squeal goop.

Problem I've heard on our trucks with ceramic pads is they eat the rotors, Napa does sell them though.

If you have rear drums replace the brake cylinders with larger Napa #4637337 ones. $13 each and a incredible stopping difference.

Dittos on the larger rear brake cylinders. The upgrade is the best $30 you will ever spend on your truck.

i have the 02 with disks in rear also, it stops fine now, just the front pads are down to the squealers, and the rears are not far behind. i didnt check napa yet, they kinda made me mad a couple times with there brake stuff. i had a set of their carbons on my half ton and couldnt stop it for nothin, after changing pads and rotors from napa three times, i went with another brand and it stopped fine. i will give these guys a call and see what they offer.

Go with the factory pads. I checked around and a lot of the brake manufacturers wanted more than what Dodge wanted.

Most parts stores sell 3 different grades of disc brake pads, I usually use the middle grade because they dont eat up your expensive rotors nearly as fast and have a lot better feel when stopping. I have tried the extra hard ones several times and dont like them, they looked like new but my rotors were toast....I just put a set on my dually, took about an hour, 20 bucks at Advance Auto, rotors were hardly worn............

I just put on a set of carbon metalic pads on my 01. I hope they seat soon, because they don't seem to stop as good as the ones I took off, but they don't grab as hard when you apply them either. Maybe I just need to get used to them. I can't read the part # off the old ones. I paid $44.oo at autozone for these performance friction.com pads.

I've had good luck with my Bendix MetLok's.
