Cool need help with my new bully dog fuel pump!!!!

I am new to this site. I just got my bully dog holley pusher pump, and big line kit in the mail today from Jegs what a deal, but I need a bit of help. I jsut replaced my stock carter lift pump last week, and well had to put it a new vp44 as well but we are running strong now on the stock system but I need a little guidance. Number one is everyone talkes about relays to the pusher pump etc, but I am wondering were should I tap into for power? the fuse box, and then start off my stock pump first and then toggle switch my pusher pump to lessen the pressure at start up? I am lost how should I connect it.

Second is I will be running with my new stock carter, and holley. If the carter were to go bad can my holley still push through it to keep the fuel pressure up, or do I need a one way bypass valve or a bypass around it jsut incase it stops sucking fuel? I am very new at this and need to know from a expert.

Also what fuell pressure tester do you guys use, I found some but not many. They say not for diesel or flex fuel can I still use it for diesel after all it measures fuel pressure right? Let me know sorry for the long post.

my power comes from the fuse box with no relay, its on when the key is on.
i never have a problem with hard starts but i dont let it cycle .i just start it right way b/c of the heat around here. the guy that installed mine said if my factory lp went out, the holley could handle it. no bypass dieselfan
