1.]Cut the insulation above the rocker cover out before pulling the cover off or you will have dust in the engine.
2.] The cover can easily be removed by bringing it out toward the passenger side, over the heater hose.
3.] The intake [air horn] must be removed to gain access to the injector lines.
4.] Loosen each line individually as you change each injector....don't try to take them all loose at once or you will fight them to line up.
5.] After the line is loose, The connector tubes can be removed by prying them out with a screw driver...make sure that you pry them out of the injector before removing the injector or you can damage them.
6.] If you don't have a puller, a bolt can be threaded into the top of the injector & you can pop the injectors out with a pry bar by prying the bolt.
7.] Lots of lube on the new injector oring seals before trying to install them into the bore, I use vasoline!
8.] Make sure that the hole in the side of the injector lines up with the connector tube before installing & push the connector tube into the bore before tightening the "hold down" bracket to spec.
9.] The #6 injector can be much easier to install if you remove your engine lift bracket.
Hope these tips help, I've changed 12 sets of injectors in my friends & relatives and my own truck & no problems yet using these methods.

I just did mine 2 days ago, I can help a little here:
EXCELLENT suggestion, I had insulation dust falling and I had to cover the head with a rag.
Ben the heater hose a lot, you will get the cover off with no problem
I didn't do it, but manual suggests to, also you DO HAVE to remove rear engine lift eye, or you'll never get access to rear line and tube.
I had no problem loosening everything before removing injectors.
be careful with screwdriver, don't damage the threads. I used a good needlenose plyier, just a firm tug upward and the tube comes out
Use a valve cover bolt, then a small prybar to pull up, works great, but be gentle.....
I just dipped my finger in the lifter's cups and used it's own motor oil deposits/
YES, VERY IMPORTANT !!!
Well, I said this earlier, I didn't see it here.
Other tips:
Do 1 injector at the time.
The injector hold-down clamp can be loosened just by front bolt, you don't need to touch the rear one.
When you insert the new injector be sure copper washer is on, but BE SURE the old injectors have it on too, otherwise it's down inside hole....
Use valve cover bolt to install injector, get a rubber mallet and tap firmly (but not rough) to seat injector.
It's not a tough job, I did mine in front of the house in 1 hour, if you are a little mechanical inclined it should be no problem.
Good Luck !!!!!

When I did mine I did the injectors one at a time. The only exception will be 2 and 4, it is easier the way the clamps are for the lines to take these lines off together. Then you don't have to fight with all the lines at once. When installing the supply tubes take a wrench in the top of the injector and rotate the injector side to side while pushing in on the tube to seat it in the tapered hole.
