Need Help Guys!!!! Holy Tires!!
Ok when I bought my truck I got it with 315/75/16 BF Goodrich Mud Tires. It is now time to replace them all but I really don't wanna go with the same size tires. They were way to tall and way to loud. Ive been doing research all day today and I cant decide. I read somewhere the biggest size I should get is 255/85/16 and then I read somewhere else that I can use 305/70/16. I would like to see if anyone has ran these sizes and what they look like. Also I'am going to be running all terrain tires versus the mud terrain I had before. I also I'am using the factory steel wheels from my 96. Hope someone out there can help me. Thank you guys!!! Hope to see them pics.

I am running toyo open country m/t in size 285 75 r16 with my factor rims and factor ride hieght. I love these tires, going down the highway with the windows down I can hardley hear them and great road manners with the traction needed for off pavement needs.

Truck with 265/70R16, stock steel wheels:

Over here at least it's only MT tires available in 255/85R16, so no snow tires and no road tires.

no joke! all i can get is c's.
I run the 255's on my dually, mainly because i can get them for ~75 bucks a tire because no one else runs them around here, so they are hard to get rid of.
In the future though, i'm going to run 285's all the way around. i can get a GOOD take off for about twenty bucks mounted and balanced. and when you go replacing 6 at a time that adds up quick.

I tow 10,000 with D-rated GoodYears. I made sure that I do not exceed tire and axle loads and have no problems, no bouncing or wallowing. This is how it looks:
