i have a 2001 24v H.O. 6 speed with stage 4 injectors, fass fuel pump its the big one, and an edge juice, intake and 4''exhaust with attitude can i put a smarty in also and what r the power increases i would be looking at
i also need a clutch what kind should i get i think im making around 400 maybe450 hp to the fly wheel any ideas?

do i need head studs?

 

Before you do any more fueling a turbo would be in order. Clutch, well I would recommend a South Bend Clutch. Some guys like the dual disk , I went for the FE.

 

Turbo would really make a Smarty stack work nicely.
I would say a BD super b or s300,(both are 57/65) or something along the lines of 62/65/12 or 14. 14 will give you lower temps but slower spool up.

How much boost your pushin will determine needing head studs or not. With a turbo of the above mentioned size, you could set the waste gate to 40 lbs and be good without head studs and prob pretty good on egt's as well. IMO.

 

I definately agree on adding a turbo before you put any more fuel to it. There is no sense having the power there, if egts limit how much of it you can use. Once you have that under control then throw the fuel at it.

 

Without a clutch none of that matters. Gonna kill that stocker real quick.
