Need help with airdog/vp44

Hi,
I'm hoping somebody has been through something similar to this situation I'm having right now, or maybe could give some tips or pointers.

I got into a problem today when trying to install a 90 degree pushlock fitting that is tapped for my fuel pressure sending unit. I was removing the 90 degree pushlock fitting that goes right into the vp44 (the one that came with my Airdog 100 kit), and while loosening the fitting that threads into the vp44, it was so weak or brittle that it just broke right in half (I wasn't using much force at all). Now I've got a part of that fitting stuck on the inlet side of the vp44 and having a hard time trying to get it out.

Does anybody know the size of the fitting that I'm talking about? I believe it's an 08 MJIC X 1/2 NPT Adapter, but I'm not positive. It threads into the inlet side of the vp44 on one side and threads into a 90 degree JIC pushlock fitting on the other.

Any tips for trying to get that broken piece out of the vp44?

Thanks,
-John

you may be able to get a flat blade screw driver wedged in there but I dont know how deep you can get in there.

It may be a pain in the butt, but you may be better off pulleng it and taking it to a machine shop and having them extract it.

Just use a big easy out and be gentle. It is a straight fitting so it should come out easy.
The part numbers for that fitting is 7005-08-12-BS w/ bonded seal. I get them from my local Flowline dealer. It is basically a 8JIC male by 12 british straight fitting.

Thanks for the responses guys!
I thought about just going at it with a screwdriver or the like, but the extractor tool that scottsjeeprolet mentioned sounds like just what I need. Unfortunately, I'm vacationing in Rhode Island right now and the truck is dead in the water until I can fix this fitting. Hopefully I can get the extractor to work it out because I'm about 400 miles from all my tools right now and I'll have to go buy a bunch of tools that I already have at home in order to pull the vp44.

scottsjeeprolet: Thanks so much for the part information.
I found one on Vulcan Performance that should be the right one also--(M1208 Metric Adapter 08JIC X M12), so I'm getting ready have it overnighted to where I'm staying.
I'm not familiar with flowline. Is the part number you listed a flowline part? I can't get any info on it when I search their site. I did find a dealer that I could get to if I run into a problem with getting the Vulcan part shipped.

Does anybody know of any other possible places to order fittings?

I just put the fitting in the mail. You should get it on Wed. Don't worry about the money it's on me.

Hi Scotte,
Yes, the truck is back in business (and now with a fuel pressure reading again). Thank you so much for sending the fitting up to me. I'd really like to return the favor in some way, so give me a holler if you ever need an extra hand working on the truck or something like that.
Take it easy,
-John
