Ok then just get the Comp & poke the wire.
It stacks well with the Smarty later on.

What kind of tuner would you be stacking it with, Smarty, Superchips. The Edge Drag Comp is prob the best all around box there is, does timing, boost fooling, and should give you around 120hp to the tires. But Stacking it with a smarty dosent make any more power really,(Dyno Proven) but the smarty makes it feel stronger down low on the street. If you want to stack with a programer a TST would prob work best but it's just a fueling box, no timing, your programer would have to do timing.

Thanks Brett

Get a tst if your stacking it with the Smarty, trust me i've dyno ever combination possible, I have a Smarty/TST and a Drag comp Poking the wire is taping the injection pump wire for the Chip to control the pump. If you dont tap it you can plug in the comp box and it will just be like an EZ about 60hp, when you tap the wire you get the 120hp

the smarty will be later on i just wanted a box that will do that stuff so i dont have to get a tunner yet.. if i do get the TST box and the smarty.. dose the smarty do pressure to or dose the TST do pressure. or do i have to get a nother box for that, like the Dr. performance pressure box...

TST is a fuel only box and Smarty does timing & fuel, Pressure boxes are not for vp44 trucks just on the Common rail motors 03-07 their rail pressure boxes.

Prob a lil more but some people have good luck with just a Drag comp, but with the TST/Smarty stack it seems to hold out the powerband longer in the upper Rpms to 3500

I like my comp/smarty stack. You have a stock truck, do the fuel system upgrades i.e. 1/2 lines and better lift pump. Then add the fueling box. The older truck hit the bottom end harder than the 3rd gen. That why I didn't like the newer trucks. If your going for the hardest biggest bang stack- redline/drag box on wire and smarty IMO
Your HO VP can't really put out the fuel like the SO trucks can so...why bother. But that only an upgrade away. I think you'll like your 2nd gen truck more if you use it as a work truck. The 3rd gen's you just have to wind them up to do the same thing.

On a HO? I've heard its more like 90. 36 for me
What have you seen on advertised vs actual gains with injectors on a HO? I've always heard the HO's do 10-15% extra from sticks, but you are the dyno man =P

I'd say start with a smarty and like Mike says do something with the fuel system. Injectors can add more than 150 hp later

I'd love to try Quad's new race box stacked with a non-timing Smarty SW.

I've never been too impressed with the Edge's quality, but there's no doubt they can deliver the HP.

I've always heard 85hp for HOs out of a "standard" 120hp fueling box.

Yes this is true didn't really pay attention to the HO part you wont get full potential out of wire tap boxes but like you say like a 100hp stick on a SO truck is like a 120-130 stick in a HO truck

I'd go with a smarty/TST stack.

FWIW the Edge Comp is the same programming as the Juice, as I understand it.

But the Juice for a seccond gen would be a different beast from the third gen.
