Need air, help

Uh oh... after doing conversions with dial indicators my timing is at 14* right now. It was supposedly at 17* right now. I am going to move it on up to
17* here in a bit.
Mosquitos were drawing too much blood last night so we called it quits. I am only seeing about 30 psi max right now but I backed down my fuel too. I am curious to see how adding 3* is going to change things.
Anyone got any experience or .02? Like I said my engine is already burning up with a load behind me. I am kinda freaked out about bumping it up....
