Need Advice on a Boost Fooler....

You can see the mods my truck has in my sig.....

First off, I keep getting an overboost code from the ECM. When I stay hard on it, it pulls hard in every gear until I get past 2300RPM's. Once I go past that, the truck just falls on its face.

I am assuming that the ECM is defueling the truck since I am running the overboost code? The truck is running more than 20psi of boost. Will a boost fooler help solve this problem of falling on its face? If so...Where can I get one?

Or what do you all recommend? Thanks guys! Paul

Smarty, Edge, and a few others have a boost fooler built in. But, the hypertech does not. Or at least mine doesn't.

Best thing I did for mine was pull off the Hyperteck III and install the Quad XZT. Truck runs a lot better and you can change power on the fly. Only downside which is no big deal is the Quad doesnt have tire height adjustment or read and clear codes.

I average about 18 around town. I do tend to drive it a bit hard. It does throw the smoke and it gave me a noticeable powergain. I got the unit for a good deal from another member on the board.

But, I do plan on buying the Quad Adrenaline or Smarty down the road for even more power.....

I don't understand what programmer you are talking about. If you are referring to the programmer I am using, then yes. It would be a good combo.

Mine claims 66HP 174TQ

According to Hypertech...the Max and my Power Programer have the same powergains.

Here is a link to the dyno sheet for your programmer.....
