necessary gauges
what gauges are a necessity for a near stock truck other than fuel pressure, and where can i get them?
i would like to go ahead and get the parts i need as inexpensive as possible. i have no mods other than muffler delete, but want to make sure nothing fails on my truck.
all suggestions would be great since i dont know much about brands for gauges.

None more are necessary... Boost and pyro if you want to be cool. Maybe a trans temp. gauge even. Autometer, isspro, di-pricol, etc. All good. Ebay or www.genosgarage.com, or www.dieselmanor.com.

I just got a fuel pressure gauge to keep tabs on the faulty fuel pumps in our 2nd gen 24 valves, and a pyrometer to make sure the turbocharger gets nice and cool before I shut the truck down...I don't really see the need for anything else

I don't think boost is necessary at all on a stock truck. Could occasionally be nice for troubleshooting, but other that not needed.
I would say mechanical FP, then a Pyro, and Tranny Temp.

No need to spend big bucks on a FP guage. After monkeying around with different options, I've found a cheap glycerin-filled mechanical gauge from Jeg's has worked best. $20!

awesome hohn, ill look into it today, im probably just going to do something cheap like that and mount it on the steering column.
i dont plan to do anything else for a while to the truck so i just want to keep tabs on the fuel press so i dont kill the pump
i dont need the pyro if im just daily driving, nothing extreme, and give the necessary cool down time before i shut down the engine, right?

Just plumb it with some grease gun hose. These gauges are 1/8" NPT male on the back-- really easy to connect. The liquid filling dampens vibrations, as VP44s tends to make mechanical FP guages pretty noisy (hence, some use a "snubber" which is unnecessay with these cheapo gauges.)
If you're feeling really clever, you'll notice that these gauges are 1.5"-- which is almost exactly the same size as the tweeter cutout on the pillar. You can mount one of these in the tweeter spot and still keep your other gauge pods available. Hence, with a 3-gauge pod w/ tweeter, you can mount FOUR gauges!!
It worked well for me, and if they gauge craps out, it's very cheap and easy to replace.

So I could get the two gauge mount with tweeter so I can get pryo and boost?
Then I just get a banjo bolt? and plumb it with some grease gun hose from my local farm store? and would I need anything extra for my low fuel pressure sensor/ light?
