Smile My Van Aaken V5 Observations

Installed my Van Aaken V5 last Friday ,and aside from my
screw up on not fully connecting the MAP connector ,and
setting a code and check engine light. I really like the way
my truck runs now. Already had gauges and 4" exhaust. Haven't
towed yet but empty can't get EGTs above 800*. What I like
best is the improved spool up and throttle response. Almost
revs through the gears like a Hi-performance gasser , no more
waiting for the boost to build.Gonna run it like this for awhile
and maybe get some injectors some day.I've done alot of
"full throttle" blasts in 4th and fifth gear and haven't got my
filterminder to move.Do I really need an aftermarket intake or
BHAF if this is all I have so far and no EGT issues ? I guess towing
my 6500# TT in the summer at 105* up to Tahoe will help me decide.

No it doesn't tap the pump wire. Doesn't smoke anymore
than stock that I can see.It does what I was looking for
not max H.P. but moderate increase for durability and great
response. I just wanted to have a little fun ,but want my truck
to last a LOOOOOONG time.

Dieselcamper,

That's a perfect description of the van Aaken modules, strong bottom end, little to no extra smoke and easy no tap install. They just plug in to the data link and the MAP sensor and off you go. We have sold a ton of them and had great service from them.

the van aakens box and the edge ez are the same type of box. If i was to stack anything on top of a van aakens box it would be ether a tst pm3 or a redline box. if you want to tap the pump wire.

Do the Superchips or Hypertech downloaders
advance timing or could I "stack" one of them
with my Van Aaken. I don't have any "smoke"
problems and fuel pressure doesn't drop under
8-9 psi @WOT. I was thinking a little exra fuel
wouldn't hurt.Maybe some 275RV injectors instead.
Can the dealer tell if you have 275RV injectors over stock ?

Dieselcamper,

Yes you can, and we have had a lots of folks do it. NOW remember you must be careful when you do this, be smart start slow and easy and listen for ugly sounds and EGT's!!!

where can I get an adjustable boost elbow. My
Van Aaken didn't come with one. I get to 21lbs
real fast and then thats where it tops out. I want
to get to 27-28 lbs.
