Actualy they are crossed. I know it dosen't look like they are, but I swear they are. I went back and looked at the pic and at the truck... I have a buddy that refuses to cross his, and I gripe at him for it all the time.

As for the stacks, I would loose the ability to carry plywood with the gate up, so no stacks

I'll back you up, if you look reeeel close you can see where they start to cross at the corner of the pic. You don't need to haul plywood, say yes to stacks.

Technically the trailer dosen't have tags... Personal trailers in Oklahoma don't get plates. But it is still very much frowned upon. To bad for them...
